2023 to 2024 School year update

The Regalado foundation third year came to and end and it has been the best year yet! We have now donated $40,000 in scholarships to 28 students. The Regalado foundation continues to be one of the top scholarship providers in the Ogden Area. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for our foundation.

2022 to 2023 School Year Update

The Regalado Foundation’s second year in operation was extremely successful. Our outreach grew as we continued to help students receive government financial-aid and apply to college. After quadrupling our funding this year, through the gracious donations of Jim and Dawn Martell and Ivory Homes, we provided $23,500 in scholarship funding divided among 19 students. This was a landmark year for us and makes our foundation one of the top scholarship providers in the Ogden Area.

End of School Year Update

This school year has been an immense success for our organization. Some of our biggest accomplishments are the following:

  • We added Ben Lomond High School as one of our partners with the main goal of helping their underrepresented students receive financial aid. Within just a few months of joining forces, we were able to help more than double their number of FAFSA applicants.

  • We were able to help Ogden High break their record number of FAFSA applicants.

  • One of the biggest focuses of the last part of the school year at Ogden High was helping students apply for scholarships. With our help, just under 30 students received scholarships to the Ogden-Weber Tech College in their program of choice.

  • Finally, with the funds that we rose, we were able to provide four underrepresented students pursuing careers in healthcare with a $1,000 up-front scholarship. Each one of these students impressed us with their academic ambition and expressed their concern with finances as they pursued post-secondary education. It is our honor to provide them with funds to lighten their load as many of them attend school while also helping to provide for their families at home.

We are excited for more work to come as we approach the 2022-2023 school year.

Our first two months at Ogden High was spent working with Debra Francis of the school’s College and Career Center to organize and begin our program. Each one of the volunteers received a full background check and met with small groups of students to offer them services. Many students signed up, and we began working with them at the end of September. We have also been able hand out free school supplies at back-to-school night and participate in many events at the school.

We will be helping with “College Application Week” the first week of October, when filling out FAFSA will be highly encouraged and students will be able to send in applications to any school in Utah for free. Also in the coming month, we will be preparing for programs to meet with Spanish-speaking families to teach about financial aid, and how to access Canvas to see their kid’s schoolwork and grades. This will all be done on top of our weekly mentoring sessions with each of our assigned students.

We would like to thank our donors who have made it possible to build a strong organization that can provide service to Ogden City for years to come:

  • Jim and Dawn Martell

  • Angela and Efrain Alton

  • Coleton and Brynn Fronk

  • GtheGhost Clothing
